Mary Kay Doctoral Dissertation Competition
Extended Deadline: January 1, 2011
Sponsored by the Academy of Marketing Science, doctoral candidates in marketing who have or will defend a dissertation during calendar years 2010 or 2011 are eligible for the Mary Kay Doctoral Dissertation Competition.
Submissions should reflect dissertations at least at the proposal stage for adequate consideration. Dissertations considered for the award in a previous year will not be eligible. To be considered, please submit an electronic version of a dissertation abstract that is no longer than 15 double-spaced pages (including appendices, tables, figures, and references). All submissions should include a cover page listing current affiliation and contact information, dissertation committee, and degree granting institution. Do not include any identifying information in the submission itself, as these will undergo a blind review. Papers should be formatted using the guidelines for the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science.
The winner will receive $1,500 and a one-year membership in the Academy of Marketing Science. A runner-up will receive $500, and two honorable mentions will each receive $250. 15th World Marketing Congress Open for Business

The submission process for the 15th AMS World Marketing Congress is now open. The Congress will be held next July 19 to July 23 in Reims, France - the home of Champagne. Please consider submitting a paper for presentation or a special session proposal. The Call for Papers includes over 30 tracks from which to choose. These include traditional marketing areas, but other tracks welcome participation in areas such as luxury marketing, open-air marketing, fashion-merchandising, sports marketing, and many others. The conference theme is: The Customer is NOT Always Right? Marketing Orientations in a Dynamic Business World - which is set to stimulate a wide range of discussion on important research topics of our time. Many special events are planned around the culture and history of the region including a Gala Dinner at Champagne Pommery. We look forward to seeing you there. Submit by Oct 18. Great Conference in Lille
A special thanks to all of you who attended the 2010 Cultural Perspectives in Marketing Conference at the IESEG campus in Lille, France. Follow this link to view the program. AMS Announces New Theory Journal
The AMS Review publishes thoughtful contributions that offer insights and perspectives extending knowledge and understanding of marketing-related phenomena. The Review is receptive to different philosophical perspectives and levels of analysis that range from micro to macro. Especially welcome are manuscripts that integrate research and theory from non-marketing disciplines such as management, sociology, economics, psychology, geography, anthropology, or other behavioral sciences.
