French Marketing Association
The Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) and the French Marketing Association (Association Française du Marketing or AFM) have a reciprocal affiliation relationship. AFM is the leading association of French-speaking marketing professors in the world and has objectives, programs, and standards similar to those of AMS.
This relationship is a major benefit for members of both associations. Illustrative benefits for AMS members include the following. AMS members who attend an AFM conference will only have to pay the AFM member fee for the conference; they will not have to pay a nonmember fee or become a member of AFM and pay a membership fee in order to attend an AFM conference. The AMS newsletter, AMS Quarterly, will contain the table of contents of the AFM journal Recherche et Applications en Marketing as well as information about forthcoming AFM conferences. Moreover, the two association websites will be directly linked (go to the AMS website and click on the AFM icon, or visit the AFM website directly (www.afm-marketing.org). Of course, since the AMS-AFM relationship is reciprocal, AFM members will be able to attend AMS conferences at AMS member prices, AMS materials will be carried in AFM newsletters, and the AMS website will have a new link. So, the next time you talk to an AFM member (who is not yet a member of AMS), say, “Welcome to the AMS family”!
