Harold and Muriel Berkman Faculty Development and Achievement Award

The Harold and Muriel Berkman Faculty Development and Achievement Award recognizes AMS Fellows who show particular initiative as a Fellow, particularly in an official program capacity or in a leadership role.


Eligibility Requirements

Conditions for consideration:

  • No less than three years continuous membership as an AMS Fellow (active membership in AMS)

  • Participation in some official capacity in AMS program(s)

  • Distinguished themselves by showing initiative in service to the Academy

  • Preference should be given to candidates with less than 15 years academic experience


Selection Process

Nominations are put forward by AMS Fellows in conjunction with other AMS Academy Awards named at the Annual Conference. A subcommittee of the AMS Board of Governors selects the recipients from the nominated candidates.  The subcommittee is allowed to put forward nominations during the process.
