2017 AMS World Marketing Congress - Christchurch, New Zealand
The 20th Academy of Marketing Science World Marketing Congress will be held from 27 June through 1 July, 2017. The host will be the University of Canterbury. Program Co-Chairs are Paul Ballentine (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Lucie Ozanne (email@example.com). The Local Arrangements Chair is Ekant Veer (firstname.lastname@example.org). If you are interested in being considered to become a track chair/co-chair or reviewer or to be of assistance in some other way, please contact Paul or Lucie now. The track array is being developed at this time. The Call for Papers will be uploaded to the AMS homepage early next year.
The 18th Academy of Marketing Science World Marketing Congress took place July 21 to July 25. More than 300 attendees participated in a program consisting of 100 sessions. The sessions spanned practically every aspect of marketing and related areas. The program included authors from over 50 countries. Special thanks to University of Bari Aldo Moro and to Luca Petruzzellis in particular for organizing special events that added so much to the program and truly captured the flavor of the Puglia. During the gala dinner held on Friday evening, AMS recognized Kean Etro of Etro Fashion (www.etro.com) as the 2016 AMS Global Marketer of the Year. Kean reminded us in brief remarks of the importance of translating regional authenticity into all aspects of business as a way of leveraging value. The 43rdAcademy of Marketing Science Annual Conferenceis complete. Nearly 400 AMS Fellows and Student Fellows attended the conference, which was followed by a doctoral consortium held at the nearby University of Colorado Denver campus attended by 50 students-one from each state. Once again, the AMS Annual Conference was marked by the extreme degree of cordiality and conviviality that are trademarks of AMS events. At the Conference, V.K. Kumar was named the 2015 AMS-Cutco Distinguished Marketing Educator and Dina Howell of Satchi and Satchi was recognized as the 2015 AMS Outstanding Marketer of the Year. The Harold & Muriel Berkman Charitable Foundation, Inc.® made its first awards in 2014. The Board of Directors met on November 20 and completed awards to 21 students and two faculty members. Among the students, 12 are US Combat Veterans, with 5 earning a Combat Infantryman Badge and three earning Bronze Stars. In addition, several awards went to promising marketing students and two grants were awarded to further the development of science in marketing. The Award Committee received over 150 scholarship applications and three dozen grant proposals.
