M. Wayne DeLozier Best Conference Paper Award

The M. Wayne DeLozier Best Conference Paper Award recognizes the best full paper submitted to the AMS Annual Conference. The award began in 1992 and was made possible by the generous donation of M. Wayne DeLozier, who was an internationally known authority on effective retailing, management and marketing. Dr. DeLozier published more than 50 books and articles, including Retailing: Principles and Practices. Dr. DeLozier passed away unexpectedly in 2002. He held academic positions at Wright State University, University of South Carolina and Nicholls State University.  


Eligibility Requirements

All competitive papers submitted to the conference, with the exception of papers submitted to special sessions and to the Doctoral Colloquium, are eligible for the M. Wayne DeLozier Best Conference Paper Award.


Selection Process

Winners are selected through a process overseen by the AMS Annual Conference Program Chair(s). At the discretion of the Program Chair(s), a subcommittee may assist in the selection process. Papers are nominated for the award by reviewers through the competitive review process. The Program Chair(s) is responsible for selecting the final choice for the M. Wayne DeLozier Best Conference Paper Award.


Winner Recognition

Winners are awarded a certificate in addition to a $250* check drawn from a U.S. bank.  Wire transactions are available for international recipients.  Note: For papers with more than one author, the certificate and funds will be distributed to the first author.  It is at the discretion of the first author to divide the funds.
