Melanie Richards
Director of Career Development
Dr. Melanie (Mel) B. Richards is the Director of Career Development for the Academy of Marketing Science and also serves as both Director for the School of Marketing and Media and Associate Professor of Marketing at East Tennessee State University. She brings over 25 years of experience across industry and academia to her current roles, including senior insight and analytics leadership roles at Teach For America and the American Cancer Society, as well as earlier work in marketing research for Delta Air Lines. Her scholarship focuses on AI-enabled research methods, consumer insights, and experiential learning in marketing education, with recent publications in Marketing Education Review and Review of Managerial Science. She has served as a track chair for multiple conferences and is also a guest co-editor and serves on the editorial review board for Marketing Education Review.
